cr history
  A history of excellence.
Circle Redmont began in the 1950's as a partnering of Circle Steel Partition company and Rudy Redmont. The company was later purchased by Frederick J. Sandor from Stanford, CT in the early 60's. To honor Redmont's legacy, Sandor changed the name to Circle Redmont, Inc.

"Rudy was a great guy but had no kids," says Sandor. "So I kept his name with the company."

Predecessors of the company built many of the 1920's sidewalks, known as vault light panels, that incorporated cast iron and glass bullets as well as concrete and glass pavers. Since that time, Circle Redmont has developed plank glass floor panels found in many cities across the U.S. Circle Redmont also developed the and hollow glass block and aluminum skylight systems used for natural lighting in school systems and other institutional applications.

Sandor set about positioning and building the company as the national and international expert on integrated structural glass systems. He developed patented processes and products that eventually became an unofficial industry standard for monolithic, embedded glass panel systems. In the process, Circle Redmont also became the historical restoration experts for glass construction.

"When these homes and buildings were originally built, the glass work was done by hand - installed like brick and crafted by artisans that frankly don't exist in today's labor market," says Sandor. "We began to design and patent new blends of concrete to secure the glass like no one else could."

In 1992, Sandor moved the operation from Wallingford, Connecticut to Melbourne, Florida where he purchased a manufacturing plant on Business Center Blvd. The benefits of year round warm weather allowed Circle Redmont to work on larger and larger scale projects.

Over the next sixteen years, Circle Redmont has solidified its position as the design, engineering and fabrication source for the world of structural glass systems. Architects, developers and contractors have come to trust that whatever can be dreamt up, Circle Redmont can come up with a solution - precisely engineered and constructed to within thousands of an inch in accuracy.

In 2008, Sandor made his plant manager, Jeff Barrett, a partner in the company. Over the last ten years, Jeff has helped raise volume and efficiency in producing custom structures with the integration of many state-of-the-art advancements including AutoCAD assisted precision cutting and robotic welding.
